The more that I look around the web for various reasons the more I am struck by how old and how poorly thought-out some websites are. They just appear to have item after item bolted on.
Equally as bad if not worse, is there is no thought to leading guest down a sales or contact funnel of any kind. The goal is some conversion. If that is a form or sales in your e-commerce shop or maybe purchase a class access from your members area. If this path is not clearly defined the site will not perform as expected.
This is why hiring an expert here is the way to go. There are so many options out there now as there are thousands upon thousands of designers and developers. The trick will be to fine someone that is not only technically capable but one that takes the time to understand your business and your needs in order to be able to craft a site that acts as a proper brand ambassador. You really want a partner that will handle that portion of your business. A trusted partner that can become an extension of your company.
We all know that as a business owner you are wearing a lot of hats... website design and development is typically not one to experiment with... it's too important!
